During the Samsung’s Unpacked event, Samsung announced three new products; the Galaxy S21, Buds Pro and a bluetooth tracker called the Galaxy SmartTag.

Tag it to everyday items.

The SmartTag is Samsung’s latest attempt at the bluetooth tracker market. However it’s latest bet to limit usage only on Samsung Galaxy phones may be a risky one.

The SmartTag works on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 and has an advertised range of 390 feet (120 metres). It also has a replaceable CR2032 battery which is great.

Don’t lose your items again.

One feature of the SmartTag is ‘community help’. If your bluetooth connection is lost, you will be notified via the app if other Samsung Galaxy mobile owners come close to it.

Another feature is the ability to use the Galaxy SmartTag to control IoT devices in the Samsung smart ecosystem.
