Panasonic WiFI Ceiling Fan – No Alexa, No Google Assistant, No fun

Panasonic announces WiFi Fan with dimmable and tunable lighting.

If only it supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Panasonic WIFAN

Panasonic – known for their home consumer electronic products –  has announced a ceiling fan that has WiFi capabilities. This means you can control it using your app (iOS and Android) in addition to the physical remote.

Launch the app to control the fan.

Another feature is the lighting which is also controlled via the app. This light is dimmable and tunable; meaning you are able to adjust the brightness and colour temperature (warm or cool). Pretty neat.

Set the preferred brightness and temperature of the lights.

The promotional material mentions that the WIFAN has a 1/f Yuragi function ‘which is a fluctuating pattern to generate a gentle breeze.’ I would think this means an airflow similar to a natural breeze outdoors?

No Google Assistant or Alexa support

Having a WiFi fan is all good but, I think the missed opportunity is not having Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa integration. Just think, how convenient it would be to say  “Hey Google / Alexa – turn on the fan”.

The WIFAN can be purchased here. Depending on the model you choose, the price ranges from MYR800 to MYR 1000.
