How to link the Xiaomi Air Purifier 2 to Amazon Alexa.

Welcome to the guide to add the Xiaomi Air Purifier 2 to Amazon Alexa. By the end of the steps you’ll be able to command “Alexa, turn on the Mi Air Purifier”.

Note:
1. In this example, the model of the air purifier is the Xiaomi Air Purifier 2. The steps will work with other Xiaomi Air Purifier models too.
2. We assume that you have downloaded the Mi Home app and have the Mi Air Purifier already up and running.

 

Amazon Alexa

Open the Amazon Alexa app. Tap on the main menu (the icon with three lines) and select ‘Skills’.

Select ‘Skills’.
Tap on the main menu (the icon with the three horizontal lines on the top left).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the Skills search box enter in ‘Mi Home’. From the results, select ‘Mi Home’.  Ignore the other results ‘Mi(Asia)’ and ‘Mi’ as they are no longer in use. Next tap on ‘ENABLE’.

Search for ‘Mi Home’.

You will be brought to a log in page. Sign in with your Mi credentials. If you don’t have an account, you can create one. After signing in there’ll be a prompt that Mi Home is successfully linked to Amazon Alexa.

Once the linkage is done, Alexa has to discover the the Xiaomi Air Purifier. To do that, go to Devices under the main menu and tap on ‘DISCOVER’.

Tap on ‘DISCOVER’.
Alexa will search for newly added devices.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After discovery, the Mi Air Purifier 2 is listed in the devices list.

Now try giving the command “Alexa, turn on mi air purifier”. And Presto! You’re done.
