Soundcore announces Flare S+

Another day at IFA 2018, another announcement of a new portable speaker. This time it’s from the company Soundcore. If you haven’t heard of them before, you might know the parent company Anker. Anker is most well known for their powerbanks, chargers and cables. Well Soundcore has just announced the Flare S+.

Flare S+

The Flare S+ is a portable bluetooth speaker. Looks wise, it is covered by a ‘compact and premium cloth’. At the bottom is a circular LED ring that changes colour according to the music rhythm. For sound, the Flare S+ has ‘full range of drivers, dual tweeters and bass radiators’. It utilizes their propriety BassUp™ technology to ‘produce breathtaking depth and clarity’. What sets the Flare S+ apart from the previous model (Flare+) is the availability of the Alexa voice assistant.

Coloured lights to set the mood.

Battery is advertised to last for 16 hours on a full charge. In addition, if it isn’t playing music, it also acts as a power bank. Pretty nifty – just like the recently announced JBL Charge 4. Last but not least, the Flare S+ is wateproof with an IPX7 rating.

Price and availibility

Soundcore Flare S+ is priced at USD$129.88 (RM534) and will be available by the end of 2018 on Amazon. We presume shipping to Malaysia to be available if we base our assumption that it will also follow a similar product listing like the Soundcore Flare on Amazon.
