Of the many announcements made at Google I/O 2018, the one that may look trivial but welcomed nonetheless is the addition of 6 new voices for the Google Assistant.
Originally, the Google Assistant had only 2 voices to choose from. With the addition of 6, it brings the total options to 8 voices. For now, it looks like the new voices are limited to Google Assistant itself. A check in the Google Map settings shows that nothing has changed with UK and US English only available. Maybe this would be added in a future update? Let’s see. Another point to note is that John Legend’s voice will be added later this year.
To access the voice settings, launch the Google App. Once launched, tap on the three-lined icon on the bottom right then tap on Settings. Under Google Assistant, tap on Settings, Pereference and select Assistant voice. Choose from the 6 new voices.
