Apple’s HomePod reviews are finally in and they’re kinda underwhelming. Worse still, there are reports that it is now staining wooden furniture and leaving a white ring on it. Apple has now released a support page for this issue. In it Apple explains “The marks can be caused by oils diffusing between the silicone base and the table surface, and will often go away after several days when the speaker is removed from the wooden surface.” Apple adds “If marks persist, clean the surface with the furniture manufacturer’s recommended cleaning process.”
Congratulations to everyone on their beautiful HomePods and sorry it secretes a deadly acid that destroys your furniture https://t.co/p1eSAvjCbW pic.twitter.com/uVhAFbIlRJ

So from the looks of it, you just need to take extra care on where you place the HomePod. A bit of a bummer if you asked me because the HomePod would look good on any wooden surface. I guess you could place some padding between the HomePod and the wooden surface? A coaster? Anyways head over to the Apple’s support page to find out more info.
