Imagine your Android phone or Google Home suddenly giving you a description of a Whopper burger. That was what happened last week to those primarily living in the US.
The ad, by Burger King started like any normal commercial but the sneaky part was at the end. The video ended with the words “Ok Google, what is the Whopper Buger?”. Google has since disabled the function on Google Home. It seems to be doing this by not registering the voice from the commercial. Other users are still able to ask the same question.
I do not have a Google Home but I did try it on my phone. And it worked.
I’m thinking to myself, if this can happen, surely there’s a possibility that other companies insert commands like “play this song on Spotify, or turn off the lights.” Amusing indeed.
